Causes of low civic and political participation of children and youth in the CR

This thesis deals with the topic of low civic and political participation of children and youth in the Czech Republic. Participatory democracy theory and theory of civil society are used as starting values. The work deals mainly with organized civic and political participation of children and youth. It is shown, based on several international studies, that in comparison with other states the civic and political participation of Czech children and youth is of the significantly lower level. Area of youth participation falls within the national policy on youth and therefore this work describes basic public-policy documents that are related to the topic of participation of children and youth. In the frame of this work, analysis of the actors involved in the czech youth policy-making, was done. Possible ways of civic and political participation of children and young people, such as children and youth associations, school parliaments, political parties, academic senates, etc, are discussed as well The work identified the main causes of low civic and political participation of children and youth and also proposed specific measures which can help to increase the level of civic and political participation of children and youth in the Czech Republic.
15 year of Czech-German youth cooperation

The bachelor thesis, entitled "Fifteen years od Czech-German youth cooperation", is assessing the 15-years period of youth cooperation between the two countries. It investigates the area of non-formal education.It compares youth policies of the Czech Republic and Germany, and presents their main actors. The thesis also describes the development of mutual cooperation based on governmental agreements and treaties that somehow affect youth policies. Other parts of the thesis deal with the activities of the most important actor of Czech-German youth cooperation - the Coordination Centre of Czech-German youth exchange Tandem. The thesis also describes problematic areas of Czech-German youth cooperation and includes also a comparison of Czech-German cooperation with bilateral cooperation with other countries. Finally, it deals with the status and ranking of youth policy in Czech-German relations, based on an analysis of Czech media reports from the first Czech-German youth meeting in Polička
European Youth Policy and Its Influence on Formation of European Identity

The European youth policy is not often in the centre of attention of media and therefore the awareness and interest of public is on the topic is not very high. However, youth is exactly the group of the population that can be easily influenced. Hence it should be the main target group of the European Union when creating the European identity of its citizens. This thesis analyze three chosen programmes of European youth policy and their influence on formation of the European identity.
